Key Responsibilities:
• Concept development - idea generation through to product launch
• Market research - including primary research and customer focus groups
• Liaise with international supplier base for product sampling, and to influence cost efficient volume production
• Conceptualisation and development of packaging products, including a wide range of design realisation techniques (including product prototyping)
• Ensure brand requirements are met and briefs are translated into packaging
• Ensure brand and business goals are clear and you are able to proactively support the business targets
• Conceptualisation and development of promotional tools, both 2D & 3D
• Close relationship / Interaction between internal sales teams and their respective client base in order to realise the potential of said product(s)
• Manage effectively project requirements, including hours spent per task
• Provide creative input in department brainstorm sessions
• Support graphics function and other team members as and when required
Candidate Requirements:
• Bachelor Degree / Master Degree in Product Design / Industrial Design
• At least 3 years proven packaging knowledge and industry experience, preferably within the retail sector
• Good breadth of packaging and technical knowledge
• Either from FMCG, Retail or Packaging background
• Strong organisational, time management and prioritizing skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects to meet deadlines.
• The ability to communicate in an effective manner - be able to demonstrate ideas effectively through a range of mixed media
• Ability to handle a high volume of work at times, while maintaining quality and attention to detail
• Proven communication, interpersonal, leadership, and team building skills required
• Strong sense of business acumen, strong organizational and time management skills
• To be proactive / self starter
• Demonstrate a track record of innovative thinking and achievements
• Demonstrate history of product to market examples
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and on your own initiative
• Full competency in a range of the usual design related software, including Photoshop illustrator and AutoCAD
• Fully proficient in Microsoft Office packages, e.g. outlook, word, PowerPoint and excel
• 3D solid modelling and rendering desirable
