Key Responsibilities:
• Attend project and NPD meetings to ensure all packaging options are provided
• Issue packaging briefs to suppliers
• Supplier visits to ensure understanding of processes and latest developments
• Work with artwork co-ordinator/s to ensure supplier timings are achievable
• Use existing approved data- base of suppliers to ensure performance standards are achieved.
• Encourage team work throughout the departments and understand other department requirements
• Liaise with Manufacturing and Operations to ensure best pallet formats are agreed
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure Specifications are agreed and line efficiencies are achievable
• Data-base of packaging waste to be kept up to date and liaison with SHE teams on most cost effective and environmental waste streams
• Liaise with packaging suppliers to identify and drive through cost savings.
• Co-ordinate trials with key personnel and suppliers to ensure all criteria is agreed before approval is reached
• Liaise effectively with relevant functions across the business
Candidate Requirements:
• Current experience in a packaging FMCG environment
• Graduate (or equivalent), preferably with a science based subject
• Experience in value engineering
• Knowledge of wrapping machines
• Knowledge of corrugated packaging
