Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with EPD packaging projects, major NPD packaging and artwork projects.
• Responsible for testing protocols/validation of given material and design to ensure suitability for industrialisation.
• Upfront predictive testing to minimise trials in plant of non-saleable finished goods.
• Liaison with third party manufacturers and company sites to ensure robust validation of changes to packaging materials and effective change management within the company's documentation systems.
• Work closely with Marketing to understand respective brand identities and deliver packaging that is consistent with this.
• Work closely with Innovation to understand the packaging requirements for the formulation and provide a holistic view of material selection.
• Understand requirements of third party manufacturers and company sites with respect to packaging material quality.
• At all stages of development and implementation, ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Make sure the ISO and GMP bests practice will be applied to the packaging development process
Candidate Requirements:
• Consolidated experience in packaging design/development
• Consolidated experience in all packaging processes
• Consolidated experience in packaging material specification
• Experience assessing and validating new suppliers
• Good knowledge in packaging optimisation techniques, like FEA, mould flow
• Good experience in packaging line trials
• Good Knowledge in 2D and 3D CAD software
• Experience in ISO and GMP best practices applied in artwork
• Ability to demonstrate a degree of operating autonomy
• Articulate, clarity of thought, excellent verbal reasoning skills
• Degree level education (ideally Engineer/Packaging technology or similar)
• Good experience in packaging development within a Healthcare / Personal Care environment (minimum 2 year)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Enthusiastic, creative, focused and self motivated
• Might be willing to consider a graduate with the appropriate degree.
