Key Responsibilities:
• Quality - i.e. all internal quality checks as undertaken by the team including tensile tests ,bond tests, CoF testing, gauge checks, print checks, positive release, Non conforming material, customer complaints, corrective and preventative action, supplier approval, supplier complaints, etc.
• Quality systems - including ISO9001:2000, ISO14001:2004, BRC IOP, Health and Safety. Hence all that is attributed to these systems.
• Internal technical support and trouble shooting
• Site IT - (a member of technical staff looks after this).
• Maintenance of their product structures and specifications.
• Internal trials - assisting production in assessing materials etc and report writing.
• Also company Environmental Manager and responsible for dealing with all government bodies regarding licensing, permits, submission of packaging waste data etc.
• Company training records - held by technical and they are currently assisting the other departments in developing training schedules for their staff
• Responsible for authorising customer returns, credits and sub-standard material to customers if required.
• Setting projects and prioritising staff's workloads to ensure effective use of time and resource.
• Writing and issuing of reports regarding development work, corrective and preventative action to internal and external contacts.
• Setting up of databases and spreadsheets so they can conduct trend analysis on complaints or non conformances.
• Conducting environmental and manufacturing risk assessments to give process improvements.
• Dealing with customer audits and all systems and regulatory audits.
• Assisting production with process improvement.
Candidate Requirements:
• Experience of running a quality department and undertaking day to day testing and checks
• Experience of hygiene systems and an understanding of BRC requirements
• Knowledge of implementing HACCP's
• Ideally trained on ISO9000 but not essential
• Man management experience would be an asset otherwise good organisational skills
• Ideally from a flexible packaging background or from the food packing industry.
• A printing background would be advantageous
• A calm approach coping well under pressure
• Works well in a team
